Pursuant to Assembly Bill 1234, this is the time and place to provide a brief report on meetings, seminars and conferences attended by the Mayor and City Councilmembers.
In this portion of the agenda, the City Manager will provide a brief report on items of interest to the City Council and/or the community.
Sewer System Improvements Project - Construction Award. (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council: 1. Award a construction contract in the amount of $352,285 to O’Duffy Brothers Inc. for the Sewer System Improvements Project, and 2. Authorize the Community Services Director to execute change orders to the project in a total amount not to exceed $35,228 (ten percent of the bid amount) for any necessary additional work.
Approve Amendment No. 2 with Anaya’s Service Center for Fleet Maintenance Services. (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council approve Amendment No. 2 with Anaya’s Service Center for Fleet Maintenance Services.
COVID-19 Local Emergency Status Update. (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council receive and file this report.
Bell Police Department Police Reserve Program Policies. (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council receive and file the: 1. Bell Police Department Manual Policy Police Reserve Police 350; and 2. Police Chief General Order regarding volunteers and contracts.
Consideration of Urgency Ordinance No, 1263 Declaring Temporary Outdoor Business Area (TOBA) Program in Response to the COVID-19 Reopening of certain Businesses - Superseding Urgency Ordinance 1256 and Urgency Ordinance 1259, (Council) Recommendation: It is recommended that the City Council read by title only, waive further reading and adopt Urgency Ordinance No. 1263 superseding Urgency Ordinance 1256 and Urgency Ordinance 1259 (see Attachments) titled: AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE BELL CITY COUNCIL DECLARING A TEMPORARY OUTDOOR BUSINESS AREA ("TOBA") (ORDINANCE NO. 1263) IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 REOPENING OF CERTAIN BUSINESSES OUTDOORS.
The following Consent Calendar items are expected to be routine and non-controversial. They are acted upon by the City Council and related authorities at one time without discussion.
